Musical at UVU Institute 12/12

Our activity this week is on THURSDAY not Wednesday.  We will be meeting at the church at 5:30 p.m.  Please eat dinner before you come.  This is a combined YW/YM activity. We'll see you there!

Don't forget we have the Stake Temple Day Saturday the 7th. meet at the church at 10:30. we also have our Christmas ward party at 5:30

No Activity Wednesday, Young Women in Excellence on Thursday

Remember that we don't have an activity this Wednesday because we have Young Women in Excellence on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Things to remember
Be at the church at 4:30 to set up your display.  If you don't have a display made contact Sister Maddux and soon as possible!
You can include pictures of you doing your project and items you used etc.  Make it fun and cute.

Yw vollyball is at 5 p.m. on Thurs.  But that should still give you time to get home at back to the church by 7.
Where Sunday best to YW in Excellence.

YW Combined is a Picture Scavenger Hunt

11/6 the activity will be combined young women.  Meet at the church at 7 pm.  Dress warm because we will be out and about on a picture scavenger hunt.

Murder Mystery?

How many of you solved the mystery?  Did anyone recognize the story from the Book of Mormon before it was revealed?  The wicked judges wanted to get rid of Nephi in a sneaky way.  The Chief Judge's brother had killed him just as Nephi had prophesied.  What better way than to blame Nephi.  The truth was revealed in the end putting blame where it was intended on Seantum, the Chief Judge's brother.  In our version it was Justice Jones.
     What a fun night!  So  many fun constumes and that crazy menu!  Did you enjoy your utensils?  Some of you were really messy!!!  A big THANK YOU to Marisa and Tearsa for putting up all the decorations!

Tonight at 6 is our Murder Mystery dinner with YM/YW. it will be so fun I hope you all can be there.

Miamaid Activity 10/16/13

Miamaids will be meeting at the church at 7 p.m.  We are in charge of the yw/ym combined activity on the 30th.  It is a murder mystery dinner and tonight we will me making the decorations for the tables.  If you have a plain glass vase that we can use please bring it.

Tomorrow the Laurels will be going to the nail collage to get a manicures done.

the 10th - 12th the girls who did the Personal Progress challenge we went to St George. It was lots of fun. The girls had a great time.
Going to the Provo Temple and St George Temple was so nice. Its fun to see how different they are.

on the 9th of October the Laurles made cards and took them to the girls in our class who was not there.

Tonight we are all together. we will be getting things ready for Young Women's in Excellence like invites and photos for that night so everyone needs to be there tonight because we have one month until  we have it. We are also needing to know who is done with the challenge for the trip. we will be handing things out tonight for those who are going. Make sure you are ready for tonight.

Miamaid Activity 9/25

Tonight the Miamaid will meet at Sister Maddux's house.  Bring your singing voice, we'll be practicing the song we started on Sunday and decorating cupcakes.

Laurel Activity 9/25

For Wednesday the 25th the laurels are going to the hospital to give the geckos to the ER kids. We will also be going to get ice cream and fries for a treat. meet at church at 7:00

Miamaid Fashion Show

Today the Miamaids took a little trip to the local D.I. We were on the hunt for fun things to wear.  Our first goal was to find an outfit that transformed us into Hippies.

Next we went business man or as Irelynn put it, "dress like your boss."

Activity 9/18

I have no idea what the  Laurels are doing this week.  My guess is meet at the church at 7 p.m. ( If you are a leader of said group please edit this post. )
The Beehives are meeting at Sister Balls house to make Jam 7 p.m.
The Miamaids will not be meeting today.  We will meet at Sister Maddux's house a 1 p.m. on Saturday for our DI excursion.

Boating Activitiy Sep 11

Fun was had by all at the boating activity this last week.  We ate pizza while the boats were being loaded in the water.  The mosquitos and hornets had a feast also. When the boats finally took off the young men and young women were excited to try out the tubes on the water.  They came back happy and with multiple mosquito bites.  Good job on a successful activity Young Men.

September 4th Baby Sitting Activity- Beehives in charge

Come to the church by 6:45 so we can get ready for all the little kids that will be coming at 7.  Each of you will be assigned a station to help at.  A few of you will be in charge of taking a group of kids to each station.  This will be more fun than water balloon babies.

Water Activity 8/28

Our activity was held at Sister Balls' house.  The girls had fun sliding down a huge slip and slide.  Sister Doman broke out the water balloons and instead of throwing them at each other, the girls named them and called them their babies.  Well they are girls after all.  And Dave the minion, we will miss you.

Activity 8-14-13

The Miamaids and Beehives rode five miles along the Jordan River Parkway trail.  Except for one small accident that left Kylie with a huge bruise and Sister Balls with three hornet stings, it was a fun adventure.  I think the rest of us can rest easy when it comes to hornet stings,  they seem to prefer the balls women over the rest of us.

The 4th year hike was a combination of hard work, sweat, and swimming!  We had so much fun swimming in the lake and watching the fish jump.  Too bad the scouts had to show up and ruin the peace and quiet.  Actually we were pretty noisy too.

Things we learned from this trip:

1. Your pack gets heavier the longer you carry it

2.  you do not need to bring the whole roll of toilet paper.

3.  Do not pull Sister Maddux under the water and make her drink lake water because she does not want Giardia (AKA: THE RUNS!)

4.  Don't wear your only "underwear" to go swimming.

5.  Hiking makes you sweat

6.  Eat breakfast and lunch before you go hiking.

7.  DO NOT TALK AT 3a.m. when your tent is next to Sister Maddux's tent.

8.  You can pee in the great outdoors.

9.  Put your toilet paper under a rock (don't hold it in your hand until it feels "a little awkward")

10.  Only pack what you will really need to survive for one night.

11.  You don't need a week's worth of food for one day

12.  That one tent was really a 2 man tent not a three man tent.

13.  Snakes swim on top of the water

14.  Dehydrated scrambled eggs are yucky

15.  Horseflies bite

16.  Baby steps up the mountain

17.  Sometimes that short cut isn't worth it.

18.  A rock and a tree make a good potty room

19. Kylie likes to blame everything on Sister Maddux.

20.  Hang your food over a cliff at night if you don't want bears to eat it.

21.Tiggers make great pillows

22.  Sister Maddux talks about Chocolate in her sleep.

23.  Marissa can tell a really scary story about a red ribbon and a headless lady.
